Situated in the northwest of the Indian state of Maharashtra is a metropolitan area known as Thane. Thane West is a locality in Thane.

The Central and Trans-Harbour Line Suburban Railway Network connects Thane to its surrounding suburbs. Known as the "City of Lakes," it has more than 30 lakes, one of which is the tree-lined Upvan Lake, a well-liked recreational spot. Sanjay Gandhi National Park, MaMo, Tikuji-ni-Wadi, etc are some fun parks here.
