I went here for my US Visa Renewal with 12:45 PM appointment slot. I made it to the drop off counter only at 2:45 PM. At 12 PM, the people with 11:45 PM appointments were still waiting in the queue outside the building. So everyone else is made to wait opposite the building on a dusty footpath with only a few trees for shade. I would think the least that can be provided is a decent waiting area. The security guards announce the slot timings on a megaphone that you may or may not hear thanks to all the chaos of people and autos and cabs. Not sure why this is the chosen way to communicate to people especially in this age of technology. Then you queue up outside the building and wait to be let inside. Once inside, you stand in a queue in a narrow, stuffy corridor and wait to be let inside the room. Then you queue up and wait for a counter to free up to finally submit everything. From here on out, if you’ve got everything in place, you’ll be done in 10 minutes. Take the day off so you can dedicate it to this hellish experience. Carry a cap and sunglasses and water and snacks. I really hope they improve the way things are done. But it looks like we’re asking for too much. (One star for the guards who are very helpful and organized. One star for the lady at my counter who was pleasant and quick.)

Reached 10 mins before appointment time, swiftly made through the queue at the gate and was handed a paper token after verifying appointment confirmation. Walk upstairs and queue up near elevators, then security lets you in. Keep DS160 confirmation page and passport ready and pass through metal detector. Step inside the main office, documents are verified (appointment confirmation, ds160 confirmation, passport) and they place a sticker at the back of passport. Queue formed to be sent to open counter for biometrics. Whole process takes less than 30 mins (from entry gate to exit). Do not carry concealed bags, mobiles, blue tooth devices, smart watches, etc. Ensure all your print outs/ copies are clear without creases or folds. Very efficient, polite and professional staff.

VAC for biometric. 1)They do for both non immigrant and immigrant visa. If non immigrant DS160 should be six months old else reissue DS160 basis confirmation no. prior visit, else b ready pay ₹3000 for reissue or any corrections. (2)Locker charges ₹500. Exorbitant charges for an elementary service.(3) Too many security from the gate to counter all repeating the same repeat message (4) Passport,DS confirmation, fees, photo elementary.(5) Outside the main gate/entry gate big chaos rickshaw guys waiting for prey to fleece u none run on meter, they know better which from, print & documents to carry. Over all a mediocre experience should be handled professionally and exorbitant charges be cut down.

What a worst experience here it's just insane. Waiting outside in croud of 500 people. It's same as Mexican people want to cross the borders. You guys are treating Indian people very bad. There is no accommodation for guests to sit till the process completes. Never had this experience in other embassies. Worst of all the US embassy. No proper arrangements we are paying huge amount for this.

Went for Business purpose. Good respectful staff systematic arrangements Photos not allowed. Restricted entry, no electronics. Keep in mind.
